With just 3 more days until Christmas, shopping time is dwindling. I, for one, am all for gift cards. That way a person can just get what they want in the first place~you don't have to worry about size, color, or them standing in line to take it back. But doesn't this kind of take away from the joy of actually finding a gift for someone, that and they know exactly how much you are spending on them.
What really bothers me about the whole notion of gift cards, is now they are advertising gift cards for fast food chains. Really, in a country where a large percentage of the population is overweight, is this really a good idea? I suppose for the merchants it is a great idea. The way that I see it, is that if someone doesn't have any money, they are not going to be likely to go out and get some fries and a coke, but with gift cards, it doesn't matter if they have any money or not, 'cause they can just put it on the card (pretty much the same with fast food chains taking credit cards). But it is Christmas. If you want to make sure someone is eating, then get them a gift card to a store or a gift basket of food~don't enable what is likely a bad habit.
