Yay, Movies (the follow up)

I previously posted a list of movies I thought would be good to see in theaters. So to update...

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans--saw it. Pretty good for a sequel (yes I know it is actually a prequel). The storyline was true to the series, making the other two completely plausible. Couple of let downs--1. No Kate Beckinsale. 2. Bill Nighy wasn't Bill Nighy enough-as he is in the others. 3)Good, but not quite as good.

Fast and Furious--saw it. With the exception of Tokyo Drift, I love this series. The driving in this one was more technical and the whole movie had an edgier feel to it.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine--saw it. Not quite what I expected it to be, but it was good. There were many questions that were answered, but it also created more that weren't. The introduction of new characters was good. Ending was a little "hokey."

Angels and Demons--saw it. Good movie, seems like it was kinda long. Good suspense, but having read the book and going with someone else who had also read the book, we were quick to point out the differences/inconsistencies between the two.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian--this one got away. I did hear it was better than the first though. Will have to wait until it is out on DVD.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3--unfortunately this one also got away. Maybe it is better to get it on DVD...have a feeling this is one of those that will need to be paused to take a break.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs--saw it. The cast was back, but it was lacking something. I am wondering if this is not just turning into a "cash cow" that is about to run dry.

Public Enemies--missed it. This may just be one of those that I buy rather than even renting. I have a feeling this is a great movie, based primarily on the reputation of the actors, the trailers, and the fact that it is a historical picture--but wait...so was Alexander...hmmmm....:

G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra--saw it. This is such a "boy" movie. Blow stuff up, use cool toys, save the world, get the girl (?). Ended so that it will spawn sequels.

Inglorious Basterds--saw it. Had some mixed feelings about whether or not to see this in the theater, but I am glad that I did. This is SUCH a Tarantino film--it leaves no doubt in your mind to that. The story is good. Different spin on a time period that has had numerous films about it.

Whiteout--not out yet....

and still can say I haven't seen any of the creepy children movies, virus movies, or zombie movies...
